Working Principle

 

The operation of a wind turbine generator is based on the principle of electromagnetism. When an electrical conductor rotates in a magnetic field, it generates electricity. When the blades of the turbine rotate in the direction of the wind, electromagnetic induction occurs within the magnetic field of the permanent magnets in the turbine to generate electricity, which is connected to the wind The generator of the turbine shaft converts the motion of the blades into electrical energy. However, instead of the slip rings used in electromagnets, permanent magnets in wind turbines use the magnetic field of strong rare earth magnets.

 

Structural characteristics

(1)The blade of a horizontal axis wind turbine is subjected to the combined action of inertial force and gravity during its rotation. The direction of inertial force changes at any time while the direction of gravity remains constant, so the blade is subjected to an alternating load, which is very unfavorable to the fatigue strength of the blade. Because the inertial force and the direction of gravity are constant, the blades of the vertical axis are subjected to a constant load, therefore, the fatigue life is longer than that of the horizontal axis wind wheel. At the same time, the vertical axis of the generator can be placed in the lower part of the wind wheel or the ground, easy to install and maintain.
